Memorandum of Understanding between Damascus University and Syrian General Directorate of Meteorology

Damascus University signed a memorandum of understanding with the Syrian General Directorate of Meteorology, aimed at promoting and developing joint cooperation in the fields of research, training, development, knowledge dissemination and community service.

Both parties undertook to extend all needed assistance to ensure the success of this cooperation, particularly in relation to:

-         Encouraging scientific research in the field of meteorology and atmospheric physics.

-         Studying the possibility of creating postgraduate studies in the field of meteorology and atmospheric physics.

-         Creating of a national center or institute for higher studies in meteorological research and atmospheric physics and space.

-         Equipping a meteorological station at Damascus University- Faculty of Science.

-         Organizing training courses, joint workshops, lectures and seminars.
