The research was carried out in the nursery of the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and its laboratories at the University of Damascus during the period 2023 - 2024 with the aim of studying the effect of the date of taking woody cuttings, the second half of February, the second half of March (2024) and the concentration of the IBA hormone (see 1000, 2000, 3000 ppm) on rooting. Cuttings of the woody eastern plane tree and their growth indicators. The cuttings were taken from the Rabwa area - Damascus, the bank of the Barada River, with three replicates for each treatment. In each replicate, there were 10 cuttings with a length of 20-25 cm and a diameter of 21 cm. The data were analyzed statistically by applying analysis of variance to the rooting rate and growth indicators of the shoot and root system The results showed that the first appointment was significantly superior to the second appointment in the rooting rate index (10, 13.33, 20, 33.336 for the control and concentrations of 1000, 2000 and 3000 ppm, respectively). In turn, the 3000-ppm treatment was significantly superior to the rest of the treatments during the first appointment (33.33%). This treatment also significantly outperformed the indicators of the average length of vegetative growths (12.533 cm), their average wet weight (6.19 g) and their aerial dry weight (1.2949 g), as well as the average number of roots on the cutting (20 roots) and their average wet weight (6.57 cm). and its average air-dry weight (0.4597 g). In conclusion, it is recommended to take the woody cuttings of the eastern plane tree during the second half of January when they are to be rooted and treat them with the IBA hormone at a concentration of 3000 parts per million
