From the participation of Technology Growth Incubator in the Information and Communications Technology Exhibition - HiTech

The Technology Growth Incubator participated in the Information and Communications Technology Exhibition - HiTech, from June 4 – 8. This exhibition constitutes an important information forum that presents the latest and most important solutions, systems, software, and applications. It also represents an opportunity to learn about the latest technologies used in the field of informatics, smart cities, e-government, e-payment and others.

Director of the Technology Growth Incubator, Dr. Ghaith Warkozek, confirmed that participation in the Information and Communications Technology - HiTech Exhibition aims to showcase students’ projects, in addition to introducing the emerging companies that are incubated in the local market, explaining that eight of these companies provide software, mechanical, and technical solutions to industrial problems.

Students from the Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering explained that their project is an alternative tool to a huge device, which is the navigation device for the spine, and it works with artificial intelligence through the model, which has been previously trained to draw the correct path for the doctor in the vertebrae. The device was tested at Al-Assad University Hospital and t obtained ethical approval. The students are currently registering a patent for this alternative tool.

It is noteworthy that the Technology Growth Incubator is the result of cooperation between Syria trust for Development and Damascus University and constitutes a strong basis for supporting and developing the economic, social and technological reality in Syria.
