The Medical Unit affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Damascus University offers primary medical and emergency services to students of the various faculties located in the Mezzeh area, as well as to administrative and educational staff. This was stated by Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Raed Abu Harb, who emphasized the importance of the services provided, especially during the exam period.

Dr. Abu Harb explained that the unit, which has been rehabilitated for the past four months in accordance with the university presidency’s directives, is equipped with first aid equipment and medicines. A medical staff, consisting of postgraduate students from the Department of Internal Medicine or General Surgery, takes turns at the unit according to a daily schedule. Cases referred to the unit are diagnosed, necessary treatments are provided, and critical cases are transferred to Al-Mouwasat Hospital for further treatment. Therefore, an ambulance belonging to the University Hospital of Dermatology is used during the current examinations.
