Female Academic Empowerment Unit at Damascus University honors 43 young female researchers

  Since its establishment a hundred years ago, Damascus University has sought to enhance the role of women and empower them. There have always been experiences of pioneering female researchers from Damascus University. From this standpoint, the Female Academic Empowerment Unit and the Businesswomen Committee of Damascus Chamber of Commerce organized a ceremony to honor 43 young female researchers from Damascus University, according to the conditions and standards set by the Directorate of Scientific Research at the university.

 In 2009, a competition to design the Syrian Cultural Garden in Cleveland, Ohio, was launched. The garden was part of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens, which comprised 30 other gardens representing 30 different countries. The design includes the most significant features of the Syrian history and culture, ancient and modern.
