Investing in the Electricity Sector An Interactive Symposium in the Auditorium of Damascus University

The interactive symposium held at Damascus University Auditorium focused on investing in the electricity sector (capabilities and goals) in cooperation with colleges and competent ministries. It aims at benefiting from the opinions and ideas presented in reaching effective results and solutions to deal with the challenges facing investment in this sector.

 

The symposium was attended by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, Minister of Electricity, Ghassan Al -Zamil, President of Damascus University, Dr. Muhammad Osama Al -Jabban, his deputies, deans of colleges and representatives of ministries, and governmental and private bodies, and a group of specialists and interested people. The discussion was moderated by Prof. Dr. Wael Mualla.

 

His Excellency Minister of Higher Education stressed the need to benefit from scientific research and master's and doctorate theses in universities in order to address the problems and challenges facing the electricity sector and thus proposing solutions which contribute to linking the university to society needs.

 

His Excellency Minister of Electricity, Eng. Ghassan Al -Zamil, stressed the importance of the symposium to benefit from the proposals and ideas presented by university professors and specialists from the relevant authorities in the government and private sector, from which the Ministry can start to create new legislation encouraging investors, and therefore contribute to developing the work and performance of the Ministry.

 

During the symposium, the participants stressed the importance of benefiting from scientific research to address the reality of renewable energies, their problems and the difficulties facing their investment, and the need to deepen the relationship between universities and research centers.
