Day 2 of the Second International Conference on Renewable Energy: 3 scientific sessions and 12 specialized research papers

 The scientific sessions of day 2 of the Second International Conference on Renewable Energies, organized by the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Damascus University, began this morning. Three scientific sessions were presented by researchers from Syrian universities, Atomic Energy Commission, Scientific Studies and Research Center, and graduate students from the Faculty.

 

Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Dr. Issa Murad, explained the importance of the conference in shifting to investment in renewable energy.

 

The three sessions discussed research papers on renewable energy under various titles, including lithium batteries, evaluation and characterization of thermal insulation systems in buildings, technical and economic analysis of investing in photovoltaic solar energy and research on alternative energy, its importance and applications. Other topics included latest technologies for manufacturing photovoltaic cells, the environmental impact of thermal storage in the steam system of an industrial facility, and the effect of additional surfaces on the thermal performance of a thermal ice tank, improving the performance of the gas turbine of a thermal station using geothermal heat, and other areas of research.
