In honour of Syrian Arab Student Day, Damascus University holds a book signing ceremony for “To You, My Homeland “

Damascus University hosted a signing ceremony for the book "To You, My Homeland" by author Manal Muhammad Youssef in the Reda Saeed Conference Hall as part of the celebrations of the 74th anniversary of Syrian Arab Student Day. In attendance were the president of the National Union of Syrian Students, Dr. Darren Suleiman, and the president of Damascus University, Professor Dr. Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban.

Manal Youssef, the author, expressed gratitude to Mr. President Bashar al-Assad, Mrs. Asma al-Assad, and the Student Union for their support and care. She also mentioned that the book contains several patriotic poems in which she expresses her deep love for her country, its leaders, its army, and its martyrs. Finally, she expressed her joy at the book's launch in remembrance of the Syrian Arab student.

Engineer Omar Al-Jubai, Head of the Culture and Arts Office and member of the Union's Executive Office, made a statement to journalists in which he highlighted the significance of this high-caliber literary event. The writer, who is regarded as an inspiration to all young people,  was not a student; rather, she joined the union because she believed in its role and influence.

Al-Jabai emphasised the urgent need for this kind of thinking and culture, particularly given that the book's content sums up Syrian life and the army's and youth's steadfastness. Each poem describes a segment of the Syrian society that came together to form a steadfast Syria that has resisted terrorism in the past and continues to do so, highlighting that all writers, artists, and talented individuals are welcome to use the platforms of the National Union of Syrian Students.

Attendees at the book signing ceremony included the university's vice presidents, officials of the administrative office, the head of the National Union of Syrian Students' Damascus branch, faculties deans, and other professors and students.

Notably, Manal Youssef wrote 13 books, the last of which was titled "To You, My Homeland." She was also the recipient of numerous accolades at the Arab and worldwide levels.
