Second Day of the International Scientific Conference on Digital Transformation and its Implications for Sustainable Development.

 The International Scientific Conference on Digital Transformation and its Implications for Sustainable Development, organized by the Faculty of Economics at Damascus University, continued its proceedings for the second consecutive day. The conference included three scientific sessions in which researchers from inside and outside Syria presented a range of research papers on digitization as a strategic option for supporting financial inclusion, the role of e-governance in sustainable development, and digital economy and its impact on promoting economic growth.

 

Damascus University website covered the conference events and interviewed several speakers to discuss their research papers. Dr. Ayman Dayoub from the Faculty of Economics at Damascus University presented a research paper on electronic systems in the tourism sector and how they contribute to enhancing tourism services and the competitive capabilities of tourism organizations in Syria.

 

Dr. Shadi Al-Adhma presented a scientific study on the role and impact of financial technology on one of its most important indicators, "financial inclusion," in the Arab countries. Financial inclusion is considered one of the sustainable development goals. He pointed out the Syrian government's tendency towards transitioning to an e-government and enhancing the use of all electronic tools to serve economy and society.
