A workshop on how to publish in SCOPUS indexed journals has been organized by the Faculty of Sharia, Damascus University, for postgraduates and students from some other specializations.

Head of the Department of International Publishing, at the Scientific Research Directorate, Safaa Harba, and researcher, Dr. Adiba Abu-Qar explained to the students how to publish research, identifying journals’ websites and rankings, approaching publishers, selecting journals, etc.

Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Hassan Awad, said that the faculty wants to prepare PhD students for publishing their research internationally, with examples of journals approved by SCOPUS. “It is not impossible to publish our students’ research internationally,” the Dean said.

The Dean also added that a good number of researchers are participating- diligent ones in the field of international academic publishing. He also said that the Postgraduate Studies Library, which has been approved as the Center for International Publishing, is very well-equipped.

This workshop is part of the scientific activities organized by Damascus University in order to familiarize graduate students and researchers in various scientific disciplines with the scientific journals indexed within SCOPUS.
