The Second International Conference on Renewable Energy is coming to an end

Researchers and postgraduate students from Syrian universities, the Atomic Energy Authority, the Energy Research Centre, the Syrian Investment Authority, the Ministry of Electricity, and the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering participated in the Second International Renewable Energy Conference.

Dr. Raed Al-Sharaa revealed that he and a postgraduate student studied the topic of connecting a home photovoltaic system to the public network. They concluded that doing so is a viable future solution, particularly given the potential for double exchange between the two networks to feed home load, which reduces electricity costs.

The sessions also emphasised the value of using the PVSYST programme to analyse solar energy system performance, verify the correctness of initial assumptions based on study results, and compare installed and consumed capacity in projects. In order to draw attention to the use of the hybrid system in these projects, the followings were highlighted: the strategies and solutions that must be employed in the field of photovoltaic energies; the visual pollution and errors resulting from installation in the majority of Syrian cities and their impact on the performance and effectiveness of the systems; and the aesthetic appearance of the buildings.

The participants offered several recommendations covering every topic discussed during the sessions, and they were given certificates of gratitude and appreciation at the end of the conference.
