International Conference on Digital Transformation and Sustainable Development: Ten Participant Countries

The International Conference on Digital Transformation and its implications for Sustainable Development was held in Damascus University 27-29 May 2024, with Arab and international researchers and experts presenting their papers and talking about the experience of digital transformation in their countries: Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan, Lebanon, Algeria, Oman, Iran, India, the UK and Syria.

 

 The participants in the conference, which was organized by the Faculty of Economics, shared their visions, ideas and realities of digital transformation in Arab countries. Discussions were online and in-person, and the topics were about digitalization as a strategic option to support financial transformation, modelling and measurement in digital transformation, the digital economy and the way it impacts economic growth, and the role of   electronic management in sustainable development.

 

Dr. Abdul Wahab Al-Musawi from the University of Kufa in Iraq presented a joint research with an Algerian researcher about the impact of digital transformation on economic growth in both Algeria and Iraq, pointing out that digital transformation has become an indispensable and essential need for the development and growth of global economies.

 

Another research was presented by Dr. Bilal AlKafawin from Princess Sumaya University in Jordan. The paper focus was on employing digital transformation in the governance of government services.

 

 

A research paper presented by Dr. Hatem Ali Abdullah addressed the role of digital transformation strategy in building the advantages of competitive superiority, and the mediating role of knowledge leadership through analyzing the opinions of a sample of faculty members at the Northern Technical University.
