The Faculty of Architecture honors the late Charles Kassab.

A memorial ceremony for the late architect and teacher of generations, Charles Kassab, was held on The Grand Amphitheatre at the Faculty of Architecture at Damascus University. The ceremony was held in the presence of Vice President of Damascus University for Scientific Research Affairs and a number of the faculty’s professors, students, and friends of the deceased, in addition to his family.

 

Vice President of Damascus University for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Mayssa Al- Sioufi, on behalf of the university presidency, extended her deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and the Faculty of Architecture, noting that the deceased was one of the first graduates of the Department of Architecture of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University in 1968, and one of the founders of the Faculty of Architecture after its separation from the Faculty of fine Arts. The late Dr. Kassab taught at the Faculty of Architecture till his retirement and contributed to shaping the architectural taste of hundreds of students, leaving his fingerprints on the walls and halls of the faculty in addition to his works in the neighborhoods of Damascus.

Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Professor Dr. Reda Deeb, confirmed that the faculty has lost a great scholar, leaving behind a journey full of giving and scientific research, distinguished by knowledge and good deeds.
