President of Damascus University meets the student delegation of the Bolgar Islamic Academy that is visiting the Faculty of Sharia

President of Damascus University, Prof. Muhammad Osama al-Jabban, met with a delegation of graduate students from the Bolgar Islamic Academy in the Russian Federation (specializing in Islamic Economics) that is visiting Damascus University within the framework of the scientific cooperation agreement signed between the two sides.

Prof. Al-Jabban welcomed the student delegation and spoke about the history of Damascus University and the establishment of the Faculty of Sharia in 1954. He also talked about the importance of developing cooperation between the Faculty of Sharia at Damascus University of and the Bolgar Islamic Academy in Russia, pointing to the importance of exchanging experiences and organizing seminars and joint scientific activities.

Dean of the Faculty of Sharia, Prof. Dr. Muhammed Hassan Awad, pointed out the importance of the degree granted by Damascus University in all disciplines, especially that it is the only university that uses the Arabic language in its medical sciences. He also highlighted the importance of expanding research and academic cooperation between the Faculty of Sharia and the Bolgar Islamic Academy.

At the end of the meeting, the students talked about their pride in coming to Damascus University after they were afraid to come because of the false news, and that after their visit they found that Damascus is a quiet city which enjoys all the manifestations of life, civilization and complete tranquility. They also pointed out the positive role played by Syrian professors from Damascus University teaching who are teaching Sharia sciences at the Bolgar Islamic Academy.

It is noteworthy that the meeting comes within the framework of the visit of the student delegation to the Faculty of Sharia at Damascus University.
