A visit of representatives from Islamic Azad University (IAU) of Iran to Damascus University

Prof. Dr. Mhd Yasar Abdin, president of the Damascus University in the presence of the vice president for scientific research and postgraduate studies, and the director of International office, held a meeting on August 29th at his office with a delegation from IAU consists of Dr. M. Dolatabadi, Director General of Overseas branches Support, S.M.J Sadrimehr Eng, Director General of IAU Technology Science Park, and a representative from the Embassy of Iran in Damascus.
The discussion revolved around the ways of developing, activating and boosting the scientific and academic cooperation between the two institutions.
The following  issues were discussed and agreed upon in this meeting:
-    Activating and implementing the bilateral agreement signed previously between the two institutions, especially on issues related to exchanging the students, professors and researchers visits, exchanging publications and periodicals and carrying out research activities.
-    Establishing a joint technology park center at Damascus University for research purposes and training.
-    Establish a national  scientific centers for Nano research, using the experiences of Iranian the field of nanotechnology.
-    Working to launch joint degree programs (sandwich programs) to exchange postgraduate students.
-     possibilities of joint cooperation in existing projects ( the Iranian  innovative and technology Center at Damascus - technology park at the Faculty of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at Damascus University).
